An introduction to Future networks

Working for years using the standard network topologies to communicate devices and systems with the help of IP subnets, these networks are now being using for making standardized network to handle multiple types of communication. For example, we have been using the IP addressing for voice, data and multimedia. One example of NGN is working over IP and MPLS on application level is SIP . A unique and shared network for access all type of access and services having multiple capabilities to handle and control session at application levels. Although it supports wide range of services, applications and mechanisms including real time and non-real time services and multi-media streaming. It is Capable of maintaining broadband QoS and transparency and can work with legacy network to comprehensive mobility and unrestricted users access.

Next-generation network enabling the deployment of generalized access to independent services over converged fixed and mobile networks, its a packet based transmission mechanism and uses Internet Protocol (IP) to transport voice, video, data and signaling type of traffic , examples are telepresence , IPTV messaging and conferencing . The new wave of cloud computing including big data concepts are revealing the NGN theory widely to transform the new way of doing business with software defined networks and enhanced wireless technologies ; network functions virtualization (NFV) have changed the way of network interaction and security services, by removing the service features and thus creating the network based on-demand policy adaptation. Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) is an example of SDN which offers best range of IT solutions including open APIs, IT instrumentation tools and automation. Fortigate’s Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) introduces a new model for storage, networking, compute, and security. Juniper is also have a key role in implementing SDN technology widely including contrail, North Star controller, WANDL IP / MPLS View.

The concept of NGN principal ‘ALL IP’ is the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) which have provision of ‘independent access ‘ platform for the multiple range of access technologies including GSM, 3G, 4G.
